I'm from a small town in Eastern Washington, but I began traveling after college as a Peace Corps Volunteer and never really stopped after that. I lived 16 years in the Philippines, 2 years in Taiwan, 8 years in South Carolina, and traveled as an artist in residence in five different states and Japan and Korea.I have lived for a short time in Paris, traveled in Ireland and have spent some time also above the Arctic circle.

Wherever I lived, from the age of 7 on, I have made art. in the past 18 years in Seattle I've had an art business, mostly making murals, and have done murals for commercial businesses from Maui to Dubai. I'm from a small town in Eastern Washington, but I began traveling after college as a Peace Corps Volunteer and never really stopped after that. Wherever I lived, from the age of 7 on, I have made art. in the past 18 years in Seattle I've had an art business, mostly making murals, and have done murals for commercial businesses from Maui to Dubai. My largest mural job was painting murals for all the walls and the ceiling of a 30' x 40' x 17' ballroom, but also I have done illustrations for children's books. In 2005 I did the Easter Egg Roll poster for the White House.

Art, gardening and reading are my main passions, and I enjoy teaching art as well. My classes have ranged from nursery school to college freshman drawing and painting to senior citizens. I have kept an artist’s journal for 35 years, and these journals are an important source for both my personal and commercial work.

My personal work reflects my love of nature and my experiences in the forests and fields of the Pacific Northwest. I especially enjoy sharing with children the fun and fascination of exploring the world of plants and animals in my paintings and drawings.

My creatures are painted with humor and respect, never twee or mawkish, although with some of my series, I've been known to outfit an animal with a chic hat or some nifty spats.
(I'm a sucker for accessories)
