I learned to crochet from my grandmother when I was about 12, and have done it off and on my whole life. A few caps, a blanket or two, and that was it. After quitting my teaching job to stay at home for a year with my twin baby daughters, I found Etsy and ordered hats for them. When they arrived, I loved them, but immediately thought, "I could make that!" I tried, and made what I thought was an adorable little pink hat with a yellow flower. My friends told me it was cute enough to sell, and my Etsy shop was born. I find I can start a project during their first nap of the day, and if it isn't complete when they wake up, I can finish it during the second nap. They go to be around 7 pm, so I can work in the evenings. I love creating new looks and adding to my options in the shop all the time. Custom orders are my favorite. I love getting a message from a customer asking about a color or design and sending them photos of the work…
