As a young girl I was a bit of a tomboy. I loved looking through the sewing boxes of my Mother and grandmother, fiddling with all the interesting gadgets and tools. However when they would ask if I wanted to learn to sew I would say sewing's for girls. Then lifes circumstance brought my mom and I to a small apartment. Just her and I... and the sewing machine. What was a girl to do? I began to sew. Mostly self taught, I didn't learn to read a pattern for at least ten years. I loved just coming up with my own ideas for backpacks and small pouches. Soon after we acquired a truck load of old upholstery samples from a furniture store. Thus began my love affair with fabric, there's just somthin about all those bright beautiful colors and endless possibilities. But now I have discovered the wee hours of the quiet morning are the perfect time to get back to creating cute little bags and purses and things for you to enjoy.
