Jen Judson's Profile

About

I am Jennifer Judson, a professional graphic designer since 1979. I have a B.F.A. from The University of Tulsa. After decades of designing on the computer, I recently became hooked on getting my hands dirty in real media--paint. Something wonderful awakened within my spirit and I'm having a ball. Who knew these wobbly gourds would get under my skin. Their organic forms and natural imperfections are terrific opportunities to create art.

My gourds are a juxtaposition of the primitive and the elegant. The designs grow spontaneously from the unique shape of each gourd. Mixing in stones, beads, wire, fabric and other embellishments adds to the fun.

After doing a variety of gourds a friend inspired me to paint leather handbags. That's a new venture getting underway. I can't wait to see where that goes...jackets, belts, wallets...who knows what awaits.
