Welcome to Tree Town Batiks!! We specialize in creating unique, one of a kind handmade Batiks. It is a family ran business consisting of my husband and I and sometimes help from our son. We love to sell at the Portland Saturday and Sunday market March-December.

Process:
Batik is the method used to resist. The white you see around the painted design is wax. First, I draw the design with melted wax, then paint inside the design. Next I put it in a dye bath( we use Fiber Reactive dyes which hold their color for quite a long time), and then boil out all the wax. Finally we wash the garment and dry it which pre-shrinks it. Some clothing runs small due to the process of boiling and drying. Look for the measurements when ordering.
Easy to wash, won't bleed or fade. Of course over a period of time like an tye dye it will fade a little. Enjoy our…
