WHAT IS A LABYRINTH
Labyrinths are ancient, sacred, symbols that have 1 path in & the same path out. They are one of the oldest contemplative & transformational tools know to human kind. Labyrinths have been used for centuries for prayer, ritual, initiation & personal & spiritual growth. It is a contemplative & transformational tool that has been used as a moving meditation engaging the body mind & spirit. Walking the calming, circuitous path addresses many psycho-spiritual needs: it can be a path to healing & wholeness in the face of change, facilitates the flow of creativity, provides inspiration, act as a mirror to our life - reflecting an image of ourselves or be a moving meditation or a form of prayer. Labyrinths are identified the number of circuits or concentric paths with the most familar being the 7-circuit Cretan & the 12-circuit Chartres Cathedral Labyrinths. A finger labyrinth is a portable version of the full sized walking labyrinth, providing all the same benefits in an accessible package! One of my missions as a healer & an artist has been to create accessible labyrinths initially for myself, now for others.

WHY LABYRINTHS
My obsession with labyrinths started in 1999 when a spiritual mentor introduced me to the labyrinth. It was at a time when I was questioning the choices I had made in my life: a new resident of the state of NH (with family far behind in NY), a professor of Occupational Therapy at UNH and a student of all things spiritual. All these questions were answered during my very first labyrinth walk. I heard the message, loud and clear, “Trust that you are on the right path…” Being a high-energy person (also known as a “Tigger” personality) sitting and still meditations never worked for me, but answers seem to come easily when I was in the labyrinth. I was living in a studio/ mother-in-law apartment at the time and did not have the space to create my own labyrinth. That is when my mission to find and create accessible labyrinths began. Born a healer and an artist, I have always used my creativity to help others heal physically, mentally and emotionally. The labyrinth seemed to be the key in connecting the two.

PASSIONS & BELIEFS
I believe in concepts of energy & I am fascinated how thoughts & ideas manifest into physical form. To me art is the epitome of that concept. I believe that our energy fingerprint is placed in each item we touch or create; therefore all my work is created in a scared space of positivity, light & love. I also adore my planet & wish to protect her, so I try my best to make appropriate choices of environmentally friendly products, recycling when ever possible & creating a sustainable business. Imagery & symbolism are important to me; I am fond of using archetypal images including hearts, angels, stars & keys. Last, but not least I love all things associated with The Beatles. Simply stated, the Fab Four blessed this world with beautiful melodies & messages of love & peace that are timeless & bear repeating. As a healer & an artist, I use my art to heal myself & promote healing in others. I also believe in all things magical including fairies, whishes & dreams.

INSPIRATION
I draw inspiration from all things spiritual &/or magical including: eastern philosophies & religions, nature & life in NH (especially the ocean), the Universe, ancient civilizations (Egypt), anatomy, magical beings (fairies, mermaids), The Beatles, "The Lion King," mantras & personal affirmations & above all else... LOVE.

WHAT'S UP WITH "THE LION KING?"
My store name is derived from the lyrics of the song, "The Circle of Life” by Elton John: "Till we find our place, on the path unwinding... in the circle, the circle of life." The story of Simba's inner conflict regarding his path in life resonated strongly with me; I too felt scared, unsure & alone. The song lyrics from the movie & eventually the Broadway show became mantras for me as I began to find my rightful place... on my path; the labyrinth became my metaphor of the path.
