Beautiful profile image of my husband and I on our wedding day was painted by my sister-in-law, Amanda Blake. Here is her Etsy shop link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/thisisalliknow

My name is Joanna, though many loved ones call me "Jo". I'm an expat of city life and now reside-with my superhero of a husband & our sweet baby girl-in a small (tiny) Virginia town surrounded by lush rolling hills, thriving local farms, old red barns and historic homes. Yes, really, I'm that lucky:) I love where I live...it inspires me beyond words. I get giddy while driving on old country roads, finding rustic treasures with a past and fixing up our century+ old farmhouse home. I've always loved to create; always been an art admirer and crafty doer. I've been called an Artsy Crafter, which I find quite fitting. I made every wee detail for our wedding and afterwards, it just felt natural to continue to make pretty things for special occasions. So, I officially opened my Etsy shop, joblake, in the Spring of 2011 and I couldn't be happier or more grateful to be here.

Please note that all text is hand-typed on my vintage Underwood typewriter (my great, great aunt's college "portable" version)...I love the clickety-clack, rhythmic loudness of my little antque machine. Typing is also so permanent, so lasting, so personal...and that, I adore.

Thank you for reading, now go have a look!
