John Harris' Profile

About

As a lifelong woodworker by trade and by desire, I have always appreciated the beauty of wood in all it’s forms. As a Native Mainer, I also am a bit of a ‘scrounge’ or as they say now, “Re-purposer”. (Whatever!) In practice this has lead me to try and expose the beauty of the wood I’m able to find locally (for the most part), and non-commercially. My wood is found either already on the ground from natural causes, or from healthful pruning of living trees. I prefer to find it and carry it home myself. Satisfying my artistic ideas, and finding further use of natural materials without contributing to commercial harvesting is doubly satisfying
