Old things "speak" to me! Sometimes I think I can feel a soul within them! Craftsmanship from the time gone by is wonderful. I like to search for and collect things that were obviously made with pride. It is my pleasure to purchase them and keep them for awhile while they are waiting for you to "adopt" them into their new lives! Re-using these things is good for our environment. Why buy "new" when there are so many beautiful things to be had -- already created and just waiting for you?

I search estate sales, garage sales, and private parties to bring you wonderful vintage items at the best possible prices, allowing you to have luxurious things at reasonable prices. Many of these things have survived a hundred years or more and there is no doubt they'll last another hundred!

I'm a lifelong crafter. I've always enjoyed working with my hands and making them work for me. I've taken every art class imaginable and every craft class that's been offered, including candlemaking, soapmaking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, hand embroidery... the list goes on and on. I guess it's in my blood. My grandfather was a corsetier who lived at the turn of the Twentieth Century. Two of his sisters were dress designers and seamstresses. His second wife was a milliner. I can remember as a child playing in the basement of their home following their retirements and driving rivets into things I probably shouldn't have, and playing with the white hat forms, adding feathers and bling. My mom was a tailor of the highest degree, a perfectionist. She could make The Blob look good in a suit!

I love the feel of things. I like the softness of the yarn, the clicking of the wooden needles that warm in my hands; it's meditative. I relish the perfect drape and fit. I love the feeling of completing a project. I enjoy designing things that make people happy. My taste is simple, comfortable, and hopefully elegant. Always remember though that you are not completely dressed without your smile!
