I became a metalsmith by accident. I am self-taught for the most part with the exception of a few random classes. I fell in love with metal over a slow progression of learning. I am by trade an RN and still do work as a nurse once in a while. It's hard for me to let go of that vocation completely. First and foremost I am a Mom and with my studio at home that also means Mom is at home. Being able to do what I love and be here for my family has been a huge blessing. I never have to go to work... I have to go 'to play', but not 'to work'... It's really great...pinch yourself great! :)

I live in a place that is truly inspiring, rural Wisconsin... The county I live in has one stop light in the entire county. It's a beautiful place with more cows than people. Lake Michigan is close by and so are the Green Bay Packers. I love this place and hope to never leave it.

For my jewelry ~ I do love what I do and I hope it shows in my work. I wish I could live another lifetime to learn everything about creating with precious metals. I have come such a long way and I have such a long way to go. There is so much too make! I am always experimenting with new techniques, tools and learning new ways of doing things. I'll be 90 years old and probably taking some workshop somewhere to learn weaving baskets in metal????
