About

I'm a true farm girl at heart and love every minute of it. I have a lovely flock of pampered sheep with such a lovely assortment of spinning fleeces... and a few chickens.

An introduction to my sheep

"Miss Dottie" is my Finn Jacob cross. She is the queen of my flock. Miss Dottie has the most beautifully natural colored fleece. Her wool ranges from browns to grey to white and even black. As she ages her soft fleece gets even lighter colored. May I admit that she is my favorite?

"Cappuccino" is my Romney - Border Leicester cross. I got her when she was a wee itty bitty lamb and bottle fed her. She is the "beautiful one" as I call her. She has such a gentle quiet nature. Cappuccino's fleece is sheared twice a year and needle felts so beautifully.

And my sweet little…

And my sweet little "Beatrix". She is a Finn cross with a super soft fleece. She is pure black with such a precious face. She is a smaller girl compared to my others..... but her voice sure makes up for it.

"Stella" is Cappuccino's little baby girl.... the first one born here at our new location in 2013. She is quite the mommas girl...and doesn't let me get too close. She is like a miniature of her mom fleece and looks. She is pure white and has one small "star" of light brown on the back of her neck.

"Ziggy" is my wether BFL..... in a lovely soft grey brown. His little face is black freckled with grey white...so cute! He has just the most sincere little sweetness to him. He is always pleased to have me sink my hands into his lovely soft fleece..... much to my delight.

"Maisy" is my white BFL. She is so regal looking. She so far has some beautiful defined curls in a soft hand...perfect for my lock spun yarns :) She enjoys hanging out with Ziggy. They came from the same farm.

"Thor" ... oh the gorgeous Thor! baby to Maisy! He has the exact curls I was planning for. And he is a loving sweetheart who always lets me check those lovely curls out. I think as he grows into an adult he will become the "king" of my flock.

"Wilbur and Charlotte"..... my babies from Miss Cappuccino 2014. What a grand suprize that sure was as she kept popping babies out! ...... and the last one was most special to me..... Wilbur as he is black with white markings. He is so so friendly...always eager for a cuddle and kiss..... Charlotte likes to get an extra cuddle or two also.. I just have to go into the pasture and squat down and they come running to me to get love.

And last but not least we have "Max". He is my new wether lamb I purchased this spring to add variety to my selection of fleeces. He is a Corriedale X. He loves to hang out with Cappuccino and her family. He has become quite the sweetie.

My sheep wear specially made coats year round to produce exceptionally clean fleeces. They each have their own unique and beautiful fleece.

I hand shear each one myself using the old style of handshears. I then hand wash the wool gently to retain some of the natural lanolin and dry it in the fresh country air. I enjoy every step of the process, growing, shearing, washing, carding, dyeing, spinning, knitting and felting. If the weather is nice you can usually find me spinning, knitting or needlefelting next to my grazing sheep. Sheep are my bliss. Each item I design is carefully created to be original and a true " work of art".
