The beauty of handmade is its uniqueness, the fact that handmade items will always have variations, each piece will have its own character. At a time when many of the items we use to express concepts of style and uniqueness are actually mass produced, handmade items can add the desired effect of one-of-a-kind.
I enjoy the unique and idiosyncratic in things as well as people. While the face of a young, perfect model might be pretty, true beauty is a matter of irregularity and even flaws. Thus, while there are potentially imperfections with handmade items, after all, artists and crafters are not machines, these idiosyncrasies make each piece more intriguing than perceived perfection. It is the tension between perfection and imperfection that creates and heightens the presence of beauty
