Born on Oahu, Hawaii and raised in Kalihi Valley and moved to Phoenix, AZ. I've been sewing for almost half my life and took classes when I was 12. I learned how to make my own patterns and that skill allowed me to create original and one of a kind items that I try never to repeat again. I feel that having something original makes a statement about you and your style and allows you to stand apart from the crowd. I like to utilize kimono, chirimen, and vintage obi as well as oriental design cotton fabrics. Having traveled extensively to Japan, I have combined some of their style with my own. As a frequent visitor to temple sales and flea markets, I bring back obi, kimono, and chirimen to use in my designs. I like to do patchwork and use the pieces to create an artistic picture that brings the piece to life.
