Hello! Thank you for checking out my shop, Kara's Little Treasures:

I am lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world -- Lake Tahoe. The beauty that surrounds me on a daily basis informs my creativity and my work. I have the mountains, the forest and the beach literally at my doorstep, which means that inspiration can strike at any moment. I am fascinated with trees, and have lately been intrigued by water and its calming effect. I also travel to the Northern California coast frequently to collect mushrooms, abalone and sea glass, and have been astounded by the beauty there as well. All of this translates into what you see here -- simple, yet unique treasures that invoke nature's glory with their colors and whimsy.

I am lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world -- Lake Tahoe. The beauty that surrounds me on a daily basis informs my creativity and my work. My first love is writing, but my creativity has blossomed into making wine charms and jewelry. I love finding new materials and figuring out how to incorporate them into my work. I use natural objects, such as sea glass, abalone shells, and gemstones in my creations. My design style is intuitive, so each piece is almost guaranteed to be one of a kind and never duplicated. I have also recently teamed up with my husband, a wood worker, in creating jewelry that features unique wood pieces. His etsy shop, Art Naturally Speaking, can be found here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Artnaturallyspeaking

When I am not making wine charms or jewelry, you can find me paddle boarding, kayaking, skiing, snowshoeing, camping, hiking, or hanging out with my dog, husband and 5-year-old son. In my other life, I was a journalist and an English professor. I also love to cook, travel, and take road trips. Additionally, I am certified in Reiki and work at a paddleboard shop in Tahoe.

Some of my jewelry is on sale at the Artistsans Market Place in Truckee, CA. I also frequently sell my wares at art shows in Lake Tahoe and the Bay Area. "Like" me on Facebook to find out where I'll be next. https://www.facebook.com/KarasLittleTreasures

**Kara's Little Treasures will be at Truckee Thursdays every Thursday this summer in downtown Truckee, 5-9 p.m. Stop by and say hi!**

Cheers!
Kara
