About

My grandmother got me started sewing when I was but 13 years old. I wanted to be able to make my own clothes because at that time you could sew clothing cheaper than buying them. I grew to really love sewing and have made all types of things and even gave sewing lessons to my boss' granddaughter for a while.

I have been in retail and wholesale businesses for 30+ years.

First, owning and operating several decorative art galleries/custom frame shops in malls on the West Coast from the 70s to late 90s and now at present owning/operating, with my husband and son, a wood manufacturing mill in Northern California.
I have been sewing for over 40 years. If it can been sewn together, I can make it. I love to sew and I'm very good at it.

My motivation for opening this online store is to earn some extra cash. I stumbled onto an auction of a national franchise high end drapery and upholstery company and bought some georgeous fabrics that looked like great table cloths. My goal is to help my daughter who is buried with College debt but has not been able to get a decent job to pay back the school loans.
I am also very proud to soon have my father and sister contributing to my site with handmade sewn items and wood items such as walking sticks, bowls of various wood types, step stools, and childrens rocking chairs, horses and dinosaurs. My sister has also been sewing, nearly as long as I and has at one time owned a dress making shop in town. My father has many years of experience working with wood and making virtually all the cabinetry and furniture in Mom and Dad's home. He enjoys working with oak, sycamore, walnut and pine.
