Even as a young child, I displayed a strong creative streak in my work at school. I loved the art classes where I could draw and play with pottery all I want. The first jewelry that I made was from a birthday party. My mother bought me a beading lesson at our local beads store. It brought much enjoyment that I could wear my art and that people admired my work.
Since then, I have taken a few more classes and actively worked on teaching myself how to improve my skills. Recently, I have gotten into wire-wrapping and metal. My style is varied in that I use patterns to learn new techniques as well as experiment. My historical research skills are used to research vintage jewelry designs and I attempt to work on imitating that style. Sometimes I get close in appearance and sometimes I get something entirely new.
