About

Born in the Midwest, Kathryn developed a passion for gems and jewelry at a young age of eight. Both her mother, Ann, and father, Daniel, acted as a conduit into the vast realm of mineralogy, introducing her to different aspects of the field.

Kathryn and her father would collect stones and rocks during weekend hikes. Afterwards, they would identify their properties using an old gem book. Her grandfather would even tumble the stones for her. When Kathryn wasn’t hiking with her father, she would travel with her mother to Arts and Craft shows. After receiving a degree in Fine Art with a minor in Graphic Design, Kathryn moved to California in search of her dream, opening her own company, Kathryn Welsh Fine Jewelry, which officially opened in 2008.

Today, Kathryn Welsh Fine Jewelry is the culmination of an eight year old's dream. Her mission: To create multi-generational fashion forward jewelry with reflections from the past. "I like to make the kind of jewelry that you not only fall in love with, but that you can also pass down to your family through the generations."
