Hey all!

I'm Katrina from Holland, MI- a former teacher and now a stay-at-home mom (best job in the world!!!)

I have a passion for creating all kinds of things, from scrapbooks, to painting, to calligraphy, sewing, etc., etc.! My most popular items as of late are my custom cootie catchers, which have taken on a life of their own! I've been featured on so many popular wedding sites and in magazines/blogs, that I've stopped counting! Pretty cool, huh? You can see below for the story of how the cooties got started.

I create all of my items in a pet-free, smoke free home and am proud to shop locally for all of my supplies. (If you're in the Holland area, be sure to check out family-owned "Fris Office Outfitters."

===== THE COOTIE CATCHER CREATION STORY =====
When I got married in 2003 (dang- has it really been that long? :) I wanted a way for our guests to learn more about us as a couple (especially since my family was from a different state, and didn't know my hubby very well) and hence my cootie catcher idea was born!
I found some neat parchment paper online and got to work trying to figure out how to get the questions to fit just right through trial and error. I had three versions of mine, with loads of questions about us, from how we met, to our favorite restaurant. These were a labor of love and I was so excited to share them with our guests!
Well, you know how it goes on your wedding day- so many details, so little time, that I actually FORGOT to give them to my aunt to bring to the reception site! I was super-duper bummed, but it was okay- I married the love of my life and the little details that you stress out about so much while planning fade away to nothing, trust me!
When I first opened my etsy shop in 2007, I was selling handmade cards, scrapbook embellishments, painted signs, calligraphy, etc. and it didn't occur to me until one sleepless night a few months later that maybe other brides would love my quirky idea! So, I made up several new prototypes (which were WAY cooler than my original ones, let me tell you!) and this idea took off running!
So here I am a few years later, blessed to be able to be a stay-at-home mom (and cootie catcher connoisseur), and I know that God had a plan for me and my family when he wouldn't let me sleep that one night!
