Launched in 2012, Kayonne Natalie Co. is the creative genius of Kayonne Natalie A Rufus, the bubbly, bold Brooklynite whose style has generated such nicknames as “Trendy K.” and “Stiletto Queen” from friends and family. Never being one to allow the fashion magazines to dictate her style, Kayonne has always dressed according to what felt right in her soul. “What happened to dressing to stand out and not looking like a clone?” she ponders. “The way I see it, standing out can never go out of style. If you follow the trendsetter in you, you can never go wrong. There are too many carbon copies out there. My style mantra is ‘It’s Okay To Be Different’!’”

The current collection plays with vintage buttons, sequins, pearls, stones and various types of fabric, making every item turn heads when worn. Which is exactly what happened when Kayonne started wearing her pieces.
Fresh out of the human services field, of which she worked for three years, Kayonne started to brainstorm and look for ways in which she could fulfill her life’s destiny. Fashion was the most obvious transition. She visited a trimming store one evening, and her creative juices were in overflow. She customized a pair of satin gloves, wore them out the next day, and has accumulated something of a following ever since. To think, it all started with a pair of gloves…
The decade that has most influenced Kayonne are the Roaring Twenties. She loves the liberalism that came out of that era. ‘Women finally got the right to vote, the hem lines and the hairstyles got shorter! It was a stark change from decades before.
