Kay Swanson's Profile
I was six years old and my grandmother taught me how to sew on her treadle sewing machine. My first creation was a doll blanket out of feed sack scraps.
I find great satisfaction and joy in creating useful items from yards of fabric. When my kids were growing up I made all their school clothes and when I worked at the hospital I made all my uniforms.
Whether it’s the pattern or the fabric design that changes each item that I make is different from the last.
