THE ARTIST...I am a self-taught printmaker specializing in making linoleum block prints. I began printmaking in 1986 and selling in 1989. In 1992 I started travelling the country doing art fairs full time and have won many honors in the over 400 events I have attended since then. I enjoy selling directly to the collector. Now I limit my travels to local ( 300 mile radius or so ) events doing about 12 a year.

METHOD...After drawing a design directly on a block of linoleum, I carve the design out with knives and gouges. Next I apply a thin layer of black oil ink on the surface that remains. I transfer this ink to white paper by means of a small, hand operated proof press. Once this ink is dry...in about a week or so...I add color to the print by hand using transparent acrylic inks and small brushes. I limit my editions to 100 or fewer images. Each print is signed and numbered in pencil. I do all work…

SUBJECTS...My subjects vary greaty and range from the depiction of the mundane ( a doorknob, pencil sharpener, fly swatter, etc. ) to self examination or social commentary. All of my work is from personal observations and most are autobiographical.
