Kathleen Grace's Profile

About

I am an artist and photographer. My art work has been exhibited in galleries in California, New Mexico, North Carolina, Washington and Oregon, and I received my art training through college and university studies and in an apprenticeship-style education for over 10 years. Okay, that's the official bio.

What's true is that I'm serious and I am also fun. I worked hard to become an artist and greatly love the more serious work I do - that is my heart and my soul. The rest of it, to quote a friend, 'is your rock and roll'. I'll be honest with you, color is at the heart of who I am and what I do. What's true is that I'm serious and I am also fun. I worked hard to become an artist and greatly love the more serious work I do - that is my heart and my soul. The rest of it, to quote a friend, 'is your rock and roll'. I'll be honest with you, color is at the heart of who I am and what I do. I get absolutely giddy over colors, I love mixing, juxtaposing color combinations and playing with their relationships.

I have my own particular point of view that only the universe knows where that came from. because it drove my mother nuts. And she may be partly to blame if her ghost doesn't have a fit hearing this. From the moment that Christmas when I opened a box of the 64-color Crayola Crayons I was a goner. One of my earliest memories is as a child in the store we lived above when I was about 4-5 years old. At the back of the store were all the supplies in a big glass cabinet. Standing there in awe of everything, all the paper, pens, coloring, it was like standing at a temple to the gods. I remember most a tablet of paper with a big Indian Chief on the cover. It was my temple of the familiar. Art and the making of it, sacred, to me. I consider that my gift, that's at the heart of all the work I do, and where I get my joy, my greatest pleasure, my deepest satisfaction, the beauty of it all. I love art, everything about it, and that I get to produce some works has given me a place in the world I love holding.

It's a pleasure to have you visiting and thank you for stopping by and meeting me. Feel free to contact me just to say, enjoy my treasures, and please visit my other art sites:
