Welcome to Whosits & Whatnots, a collaboration between several friends and family members who have been collecting and sharing their treasures for 40+ years. I'm Kimberly, shop owner and manager. As with many vintage items, some small scars from age may remain on many of the items you'll find listed here. I clean, but do not necessarily "polish," each item to restore as much of its original luster and beauty as possible, except in cases (personal call) where patina, tarnish, etc. may add more interest to an item. I am constantly learning about this process of being an Etsy seller, learning to research items and their history and value, as mementos and functional art.

Welcome to Whosits & Whatnots, a collaboration between several friends and family members who have been collecting and sharing their treasures for 40+ years. I'm Kimberly, shop owner and manager. My interest in vintage items came to me in childhood. My mother swears I was a thief. She'd find stashes of my treasures (usually her treasures) everywhere -- in bowls, cabinets, a pressed flower she made as a child stuffed into my favorite Berenstein Bears book. Obviously I was a thief. ;-) But I was also a hunter, of past memories and memorabilia. A passion for photography didn't approach until much later, only in the last two years in fact. But there's a connection between the two that both mystifies and delights me and defies explanation. Perhaps it's the image of sold nostalgics coupled with the documentary soul of a photograph. My mind still makes a picture of all the items my mother has loved, and which are now gone to other homes, recalls each gasp, then laugh, as she catches me lifting an old coin set from her underwear drawer, fingering the surfaces and wondering where they came from.

My mother, Sharon, has been thoughtfully collecting for over 40 years. Born in the Pacific Northwest, she has traveled extensively throughout the United States, as well as globally, heading to Okinawa and Germany to teach at military bases. While there she skied, rode trains, and ate great food in London, Paris, Rome and many other great cities, big and small.

We sincerely hope you enjoy browsing the shop. And maybe you'll find something that evokes a particular good feeling for you. In the end, that happiness is what we wish for you. Thank you for stopping by.
