Illustration has given me a different way of seeing things, taking inspiration from everything around me, both the exciting and everyday objects that hold a special charm.

Inspiration comes in many forms but I find most of my inspiration comes from the past. I love the notion of nostalgia and the whimsical thoughts that days gone by provoke. Things on a small scale also inspire me. I love natural textures such as wood and hair and find working in detail and natural patterns an essential part to my illustrations. In creating my illustrations I favour using coloured pencil as I find it is the medium that I have most control over and allows me achieve the level of detail I desire in my illustrations. I have experimented with various techniques and mediums and have finally landed back to the humble pencil and paper, but still enjoy experimenting with gauche, watercolour, ink and digital mediums.
