About

My journey has taken my husband and I from the West Coast to the East Coast. Landing in scenic Maine, we've discovered an amazing and complex place where the unexpected always seems to catch us by surprise. There is an energy and rebirth of the arts, music, great food and natural things. The people here have a strong sense of family and place and are true to keeping things real and natural. After years of working as a healthcare provider, I decided that it was time to explore my creative abilities. I love cooking and creating wonderful things in my kitchen.

There's nothing better and more satisfying than having people enjoy something that you have created.
Throughout my life, I have always explored the arts, in some form. Whether it was working with watercolors, stained glass, jewelry making, floral arrangements or gourmet cooking. I just love creating "artful" things! I happened upon soap making, shampoo bars, in particular, after researching all the chemicals that were present in commercial shampoos. After looking at labels on commercial shampoo bottles I discovered that every product had a list of synthetic chemicals that I could not pronounce. These chemicals were not something that I wanted on my hair and on my body. Our skin is like a sponge, absorbing all of these harmful chemicals on a daily basis. Eventually, these synthetic chemicals show their effects on our bodies in some shape or form.
After learning all that I could about making shampoo bars I decided to launch my Green Kimono shampoo bar line thus merging my interest in living healthy with an expression of my creative side. I am able to create new recipes and explore with different scent combinations. This allows me to be creative and to provide a high quality finished product that is safe and natural.
From the first time that I used my shampoo bar I was completely hooked and I will never go back to commercial liquid shampoos. I love the way they clean and I have peace of mind knowing that I am not putting harmful synthetic chemicals on my hair and scalp. I feel as though I am helping this planet in some small way by creating a green, natural product that is both environmentally safe and gets amazing results. I hope that you enjoy my natural shampoo bars as much as I do. They are made with high quality natural vegetable oils, pure essential oils and lots of love and care.
