Kirsten Lawrence's Profile

About

A new england native, I moved to the bay area in 1998. The move must have stirred up some creative energy as I started making jewelry at about that same time. I love shiny and sparkly accessories and had an interest in creating them myself. I started out working mostly with beads and wire wrapping, but now have moved towards more metalsmithing. I took an intro to metalsmithing class at California College of the Arts, and from that point on developed my techniques on my own through lots of research, and trial and error. For materials, I favor sterling silver, gold alloys, and the sparkle of gemstones and crystals.

When I'm not making jewelry I am at my full-time job working for an engineering firm in San Francisco, experimenting in the kitchen, hiking or biking in the Oakland hills, or just hanging with my hubby, basset hound and tuxedo cat.
