About

My wooden sign making craft started out as a hobby, but due to an increased demand, it has turned into a growing business. ETSY has made it very easy to move forward as a business and I am grateful for, not only the website, but the ETSY team and support staff ETSY has assembled.

The signs I create and manufacture are truly unique. They can enhance the decor of your home or business. They make great gifts for many occasions like: birthdays; holidays; Fathers/Mothers Day; retirement; house/cottage/cabin warming gifts; etc.

NOTE:
I cherish the opportunity to produce a unique product for you to enjoy and meet your design specifications. In order to solidify this, please communicate with me before you purchase a sign so I can provide you with a ship date based on my production workload and wood stock availability,

My production workload often consists of multiple signs and when the complexity of my production schedule grows, ship dates naturally move further out on the calender. When a purchase is made before checking my production workload or the availability of a type of wood, expectations are not met.

Since my signs are customized, personalized and typically made to order, based on the sign you select, from my ETSY shop, as a reference, the cost may be higher or lower depending on the detail and modifications, etc. needed to accommodate your requests and requirements. The turn around time on the sign you purchase can take 2 - 4 weeks and sometimes longer, depending on the complexity of the sign and production workload. I will always give you an estimated turn around time and stay in close contact with you as the work on your sign progresses.

The Production Process:
All signs pictured in my ETSY Shop are created by hand. Each piece of wood is different and slight variances will naturally be present from what is shown in the pictures. In addition, the colors, shades, shapes, grain of the wood and detail of the artwork may vary as well.

Step 1 – The Developmental / Drafting Stage:
The initial developmental stage of the design process starts with a draft of your idea. Once I begin, I post (attach) drafts through the ETSY thread you initially created. We may interact once or several times through this process, but through this first step your original idea is transformed and solidified into a workable product you can be excited about; one that meets your expectations and requirements. Once the draft process is complete and you give me the "go ahead" signal to start production, I will post the final draft in my ETSY shop for you to purchase your sign through PayPal.

Step 2 – Purchasing your sign through PayPal:
The process is very simple. Click on the image to access the details page of your (draft) sign. From here, click on the “Add to Cart” button and go through the process of purchasing your sign, i.e. “Check out with PayPal,” "Ship to Information," etc. If you have any questions on the purchasing process, please let me know ASAP and I will provide assistance. Once I receive notification you have purchased your sign, I will begin production.

Step 3 – The Production Stage:
As production is under way, I will keep in contact with you to answer any questions you have, provide updates on the progress and an actual ship date of your sign.

Wood stock - (Not the infamous 3 day music festival from back in the day):
I obtain most of my wood through a saw mill. My saw mill's cut and dry inventory depicts the type of wood I have in my inventory. I do my best to keep a stocked inventory, but there are times when certain types of wood are not available.

For example... wood with the bark on the top and bottom edges is very popular and to ensure the bark doesn't loosen from the trunk of the tree, the saw mill has to side-cut the tree trunk soon after the tree is cut down.

So... depending on my saw mill's and their supplier's freshly cut down tree inventory, the opportunity to obtain wood with the bark on the top and bottom edges doesn’t always present itself in a timely fashion. Therefore... please let me know what type of wood you want before you make a purchase and I will provide you with the availability of that type of wood and an estimated ship date of your sign.

Types of wood:
Cedar - very soft and light. Natural colored stain is recommended

White and red pine (no difference really) - natural or tinted stain are very appealing

Poplar (or Popal) - Llighter in color and a little finer grain than pine. Natural or tinted stain is very appealing.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my ETSY Shop. I hope you enjoyed it and visit again! I enjoy the creative interaction through every project and pay close attention to detail with an effort to provide a product and customer service that meets your approval and exceeds your expectations. If you have any questions or ideas, "inside or outside the box," please do not hesitate to contact me.
