Creating life’s little luxuries with fabulous yarn is in my DNA. I grew up in Milan, a city known for fashion and design. My grandmother and mother taught me the basics of "diritto" and "rovescio" -- knit and purl – and to use natural fibers to stay warm and elegant.

I love to knit hats, cowls, scarves, and mittens. These on-the-go accessories are wonderful to have on hand as the weather changes. They are chic, colorful, and practical. Walk down the street in Milan – or San Francisco where I live today – and you will see my favorite kind of soft scarf tossed over the shoulder or bright mittens keeping someone warm.

Selecting yarn for a knitting project is a creative and ethical decision. My favorite is wool because it is so versatile, hypoallergenic and really warm. I also like llama, alpaca, silk and bamboo. Most important, I am very conscious about the origin of the yarn -- how it is sourced, that the fibers are ethically produced, and that they are not dyed or dyed with plants. Of course, this choice involves higher quality and higher prices but it is also more environmentally friendly. I care about the animals and how they are treated and sheared so I do my research before buying my materials.

My background as a reflexologist – a healing modality that applies pressure to key points on the hands, feet and ears – has given me a special satisfaction in knitting soft and warm things for these special parts of the body. In my free time, I do yoga and meditate. I enjoy going on hikes with my dog Cody or taking him to the beach. I always have a scarf or hat in my bag, just in case the weather changes…and because they make me feel dressed well wherever I go.

Everything in my shop is knitted with yarn that that meets my personal standards for warmth, kindness to the environment and elegance. Enjoy!
