About

This is my second etsy shop! I was extremely excited to open my first, Scarlett's Garden, in 2008 and now I have moved on to another.

I have always enjoyed beads...but there is something truly exciting about vintage buttons. If they could talk, imagine what they would tell us. Where they came from, what age person wore them and on what type of garment, the year they were made, and how far they have travelled. Hmmm...

And the ways that buttons can be used is just as much fun. I first thought they were fun to look at, the shape, color, and texture. Then I started to envision their use in necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pins and now rings and watch bands. Buttons can be stacked or not, to be used in scrapbooks, card making, and other paper crafts. Also with knitting, crocheting, and needle point. Just yesterday I thought it might be possible to use…

This is my second etsy shop! I was extremely excited to open my first, Scarlett's Garden, in 2008 and now I have moved on to another.

Just yesterday I thought it might be possible to use embrodiery floss or thread and sew a design into the fabric of a cloth button.

As for vintage notions...I used to play in my Mom's sewing box, I think most of us did. There was always a treasure trove of fun and interesting items to see and touch. Slowly I learned to use those items and now they are sitting everywhere within my home.

Now sewing, there is an art that I absolutely love! And even at my age I'm learning new and better ways of making fun pieces with the wonderful array of fabrics we have available in the 21st century. At the end of the day when my vision is blurry, I still try to get just one more stitch sewn. Eventually I have to give in and put the piece aside for the next day.

Sewing brings me such peace. It is a relatively easy craft but in the end there is a lovely result. I never knew I would enjoy anything so much as picking up a needle and thread.

I hope you too are able to enjoy the simple pleasures in life that leave a little smile on your face.

Thank You!
