Keri Sheheen is known for creating works that combine her love for printmaking with poster design and vintage optical toys. Her lifelong fascination with superstitions, spiritualism, folklore and unusual phenomenon are often the subjects of her prints. Her work also highlights the importance of handmade, tangible works in an otherwise digital age.
Keri has exhibited work in galleries and shows throughout the tri-state area, including the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, The Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, Staten Island’s Artspace and The Alice Austen House Museum. She also frequents local art fairs under her traveling print show, Parlor Trick Prints, including the Snug Harbor Fence Show, Coney Island’s Strange and Unusual Market and the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market. In 2018 she illustrated the official t-shirt of Coney Island’s Mermaid Parade.
Keri was born and raised in Staten Island, NY. She received her BFA in Printmaking in 2013 from SUNY New Paltz. When she is not making prints you can find her making edible artwork in the form of cakes at her family’s bakery.
