About

Hi! Thank you so much for visiting my shop! Here is just a little bit about me.

All aspects of book arts enthrall me, from designing the book and the style of construction to choosing the right materials. Often I will make specialty paste papers or incorporate some of my prints, drawings and paintings. In all of my work, the natural world and specifically, the Maine coastal landscape, is my inspiration. I love the seasons and, the colors and the surprises of nature. One of my goals is to invite nature to appear wherever possible in my creative process. Perhaps I will find a rock on the beach that is just perfect, or the morning light suggests a special color palette. Beautiful papers are sometimes made from the most surprising materials. Hi! Thank you so much for visiting my shop! Here is just a little bit about me.

All aspects of book arts enthrall me, from designing the book and the style of construction to choosing the right materials. In all of my work, the natural world and specifically, the Maine coastal landscape, is my inspiration. I love the seasons and, the colors and the surprises of nature. I once made a sheet of paper, using a Hollander beater, from the scraps of my wedding dress. I like to see things reused and turned into something else of new use and of beauty.

Journals to me are very moving, because I see them as a canvas for your personal story, to keep in whatever style that you would like. If you see life as a journey, as I do, then there will always be moments of inspiration and things to remember. Inspiration for writing can come in bits, but the journal is a place of gathering for words or images - musical notation - and will hold your ideas for future use and reflection. It will hold impressions form your travels or everyday remarkable thoughts that we all have. I just make the format, but I believe that the format can inspire what goes into the book.

Last July, I started my Etsy shop, and I am having so much fun being a part of such a creative community. My commitment to you is to make the very best journals for you that I can possibly make, to never make the same book twice, and to keep learning new ways to make journaling and the process of creative recording, special.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and I welcome you to my shop! If you are still interested, I would love you to check out some of my other wok at my personal website www.katherinegreenearts.com

Thank you and enjoy the journey!
