"THE FROZEN GESTURE"

My most recent work is represented here. These are non-representational paintings, leaving the observer to interpret/react/respond to each one on an individual/personal level. I consider my art work a "frozen gesture" to be enjoyed as part of a setting. If you look at them, the pieces demand viewer participation - my intention is that the viewer sees something fresh and new in a painting every time they look at it.

In describing my work I often use this analogy: The comparison of a digital watch with an analog one. The digital watch tells you the time even if you give it the slightest glance. The analog tells you the time, but you must put some thought into understanding the message.

I studied art in California, majoring in both printmaking and painting. I am influenced most by the Abstract Expressionist, Fauvist, and Expressionistic movements (with a little "Dada" thrown in for good measure!).
