I've been sewing and creating for many years, beginning my career in garment sewing by taking apart my old little girl dresses with those amazing full skirts, to make something new out of them, usually halter tops. I was very much a child of the 70's.
I soon moved on to learning crochet, mastering the granny square and moving on to tiny crocheted roses, which I sold to my classmates and friends. Ahhh the beginning was happening.
I soon became involved in anything fiber craft, learning from anyone who would teach me..... which opened the door to so many others: knitting, embroidery, tatting, needlepoint and rug making. I worked in my mother's yarn shop and attended buyers fairs, and then worked for a small chain department store as an assistant buyer.
I started quilting about about the time my children were born, but left it on the back burner until 2000, when I learned to dye my own fabric and…
