Angela Nelson's Profile

About

Pleasure to meet you, I'm Angela Nelson and I live in Seattle, Washington.

Growing up in a Scandinavian family in the heart of the Pacific Northwest of the US, I feel drawn to simple and natural art. I like creating work that doesn't try too hard to be anything except what is true and reflective of life's experiences.

Traveling is one of my passions. I like to incorporate the people, cultures, and objects that have made strong impressions on me into pieces I can use every day. I've visited more than 40 countries and I've been to every continent, and I'm aware how lucky and privileged I am to have done this.

I'm inspired to express creativity in ways I assemble from my international education as a willing and constant student of humanity. I love trying new things, and that is why you'll find I have a variety of pieces in many materials.

As a visual communication artist, I have more than 13 years experience designing and creating for the Web. Along the way, I've done classwork in design, portrait drawing, acrylic + encaustic painting, metalsmithing, art history, dancing, drumming, yoga, sewing, cooking, writing, and I've even taught art to kids at camp.

The best way I've learned is simply by doing and applying new techniques to suit the current project. Seeing what works and what doesn't is the most important part of the process for me. Staying open is a big part of what makes it fun to create.

I'm happy you are here and we get to make a connection. Välkommen and welcome.
