About

"Oooooo... I can make that!" That's what I've said about many things I've seen in my life. Some I make, and some I don't. Most I make ONE of for myself, and then never make again. Well, it's time to change that.

I have sewn since I was a little girl. I have done all kinds of craft work, but sewing is my favorite art. So what have I made? Here's a list:
Civil War knee breeches (ok, this one I made 1000 pairs of professionally- never again)
Quilts
Draperies
Upholstery
Baby gear
My own wedding dress (talk about stressful)
This list could go on for an indefinite amount of time, so I'll stop before I bore everyone to death. But you get the idea... I've done a little bit of everything.

Now that I have a…

Now that I have a little lamb of my own, it's no wonder that my sewing has changed direction towards baby gear. I started making things for her and I, and people liked it. So now I start my sewing journey down Etsy Lane....and start making for others. Enjoy!

Also, here's a little info about the ring slings that you find in my shop... A baby ring sling is the best way to wear your baby close to you! Here are just a few of the great benefits and features of this particular sling that make it unique:

-This will be the first and last baby carrier you will need to purchase, because it can be used through all the different baby stages from newborn to toddler! It will easily hold up to 35 pounds. The sling serves very well as an extra blanket when needed as well.

-The sling is triple-stitched at the tension points near the stainless steel rings which are welded and weight-tested to 200 lbs each. Also, the weight of your child keeps the fabric tight in between the rings to prevent it from slipping.

-All my slings are very easy to wash and maintain: machine wash, hang to dry.

-You can easily adjust the sling by lifting the top ring and letting the fabric slide through to loosen (but make sure you are holding your baby, of course), or just pulling the tail to tighten it up. You can find the most comfortable position for both of you, depending on your situation and age of your baby:
o Buddha hold- baby faces out or to the side, in front of you
o Front carry- baby faces you, tummy to tummy
o Hip carry- baby faces you and sits on your hip
o Back carry- baby rides piggy-back facing you
o Cradle hold- baby lays down, great for nap or just to cuddle up
o Nursing hold- baby can breastfeed while laying down or sitting up, and you can use the sling tail to cover up

A few other notes:

If you are not too familiar with slings, email me for instructions on wearing it correctly or search on the internet for them. When you first try to baby-wear with your sling, it may seem difficult, or your baby might not like it. But please, try, try again! Search for different positions that seem to work well for you and move the fabric around for a good fit. You’ll get the hang of it, and in the end you and your baby will love it!
