Thank you for taking the time to check out what I do. I am an egg artist and have been for at least fifteen years now. I love working art on something I can hold in my hand. As I work on an egg it becomes warm and feels like I really am connected to it.

All the eggs I work on are from domestically raised birds and are infertile so no bird dies for this. Some I buy already blown and others, like the bobwhite quail, I blow myself. An eggshell is like porcelain and a wonderful surface to paint on. I use acrylics and sometimes ink. I use a dental drill to do the cutting, same nasty sounding drill your dentist uses without the light and water. Since each eggshell is unique I draw the designs by hand and then cut them out.

You will see slight differences in each cut eggshell. The hinges I use are brass and epoxied onto the shell. I use the best size of several sizes I have for the eggshell. All cut shells are more delicate so I paint a coat of ModPodge inside to make them stronger. It is clear so you can paint, glitter or decorate the inside as soon as you receive the cut eggshell.

I belong to Tri-County Egg Artist Guild and International Egg Artist Guild. Both have websites if you are ever curious what other artists do with eggs. This is a very ancient art, and practiced in one way or another all over the world. There are shows where you can see first hand what egg art is all about and meet the people who do this. There are lots of classes to learn different techniques too. I will answer any questions and give hints what to do with a cut eggshell once you bought it.

I live with my very patient husband and three rescued cats in Pahrump Nevada. That is just north of Las Vegas. My husband keeps the computer working and trying to train me to become proficient at this while the cats are my painting supervisors. Living way out here in the desert is very peaceful and I've adopted several ravens, many rabbits a few ground squirrels and other birds. I love all animals and will someday have a burro or two to add to this menagerie.

Favorite subjects to paint on eggshells are flowers, weeds, bugs, butterflies and traditional pysanki designs. Ostrich shells make wonderful globes.

I am not doing any trading yet. Let me figure all this out first. Thanks
