Thank you for taking the time to check out what I do. I am an egg artist and have been for at least fifteen years now. I love working art on something I can hold in my hand. As I work on an egg it becomes warm and feels like I really am connected to it.
All the eggs I work on are from domestically raised birds and are infertile so no bird dies for this. Some I buy already blown and others, like the bobwhite quail, I blow myself. An eggshell is like porcelain and a wonderful surface to paint on. I use acrylics and sometimes ink. I use a dental drill to do the cutting, same nasty sounding drill your dentist uses without the light and water. Since each eggshell is unique I draw the designs by hand and then cut them out.
