Original Illustrations and clay work by LAURA DAUB
Canadian Artist and Illustrator

My fondest memories come from many childhood visits to Northern Ontario at my grandparent’s cottage, or camp, as they called it, on an island, surrounded by woods and water, with the days spent canoeing, hunting for frogs, swimming and hot steambaths (saunas). With my love for this northern outdoor living, combined with a bit of a childhood obsession with gnomes and a Finnish grandfather, I chose the Finnish word for gnome – Tonttu – for the name of my illustrative venture of folklore.

More about the Artist:

A life-long passion with Artistic Expression led me to my post-secondary education as a Designer, including formal training in Haute Couture as a Fashion Designer with a large focus on Illustration and also in Multimedia Design and Home Decor with years of practice afterwards, all led me to a rewarding life dedicated to Visual Arts.

Although I love to work with many different mediums, my focus always goes back to my love for illustration, so for 2017 and beyond, I will be focusing on bringing some childhood magic back to life with Tonttu Forest… because well, who couldn’t use a bit of magic these days with all that's going on in the world?!

For Fine Arts, I mostly work with watercolours and metallic inks to create my large-scale gilded floral paintings. My original paintings can be found on my website at http://lauradaub.com.

Please feel free to inquire about my work at anytime. I am currently selling my work privately, but I do intend to look for representation for my large work and hope to find some licensing representation for my illustrations.

For brick and mortar shops, please do let me know if you would like some wholesale pricing info. I'd be more than happy to have my work in your shops!

All the best,

Laura
