About

I have worked as a nurse for 30 years, and know the value of preserving memories and how important something as tangible as a quilt is to the mourn the loss of someone dear.

When my mother passed away I was left with a closet full of memories. I wanted to create something that would honor her and provide comfort to myself and my sister. I used her clothes to create a beautiful, functional, and comfy quilt, that I still use daily. It was comforting to go through her clothing and to piece together my memories of her in this quilt. I want to share the comfort I found in this with those of you who have also lost someone you love.

Quilts can also help celebrate happy times and hold those memories close, like graduating to adulthood, weddings and grandchildren.

My passion is taking small pieces of memories, sewing them together, and making something warm and that matters to those who wrap in it.

Some words about the process. . .

I work in a causal style that is called improvisational. I use the material at hand, sew it together securely and use patterned with large geometries and not a lot of fussy cutting or piecing. This way you get a quilt with a lot of sentimental value, at a cost that is affordable.

I can do more complicated quilts. If you have a specific idea, send me a picture and we can discuss the work and cost involved.

Also, I see a lot of colors in the color white and may use 'white' from many different sources of materials. If there is a particular WHITE that you want, or any other color, for that matter, then you should send that to me with your clothing collection.

I understand that making a quilt from clothes of someone who has passed, is apart of keeping them close to your heart. I expect that we will convo or talk together a lot before you are ready to send the clothes and we have agreed on the design and price. So even if you are not sure yet, convo me anyway and we can talk about ideas. Then send the box when you are ready. This is all apart of working into a more peaceful remembering.
About twice a year, I will send out messages to my followers, to tell you I am scheduling for the next several months and this gives us a chance to reconnect.
