art boxes & stereo photographs as voyeuristic escape.

the boxes started with one bed in a small lighted box; now they are stereo photos and small sculptures. limits on space and time seem to directly affect privacy, but these boxes and stereo images invite you to find more scope in less space.

I exhibited for nine years in the Washington, DC metro area before moving to the Shenandoah Valley in 2005. Before relocating to Virginia, I grew up in Alabama and earned a BFA in Painting from Birmingham-Southern College. In DC I took courses with Bill Christenberry and Mindy Weisel at the Corcoran College of Art & Design while still working a 9-to-5 job in Arlington, VA. I joined a painting trip to Provence, France where British artist Richard Kenton Webb helped me to see 'colour‘ in a new way, and greatly influenced my palette.

I live in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley with my husband the nearly famous writer and our two sons the international forces of nature. We own & operate STAUNTON ART SUPPLY in historic downtown Staunton.
