Leslie Wind's Profile
After a less than stellar year of college in the late 1960"s I started making and selling jewelry which continues to this day. I was taught to knit by my mother and crochet by my high school boyfriend's grandmother years earlier. How funny to think that all this came together about 7 years ago when I turned my metal smithing creativity to making shawl pins and other closures which led to selling at sheep and wool festivals. I was back in the '60's! These events are mostly held at state fair sites that are right out of Norman Rockwell.
In the past two years I have moved and stopped having a studio that had open hours. I have heard good things from friends about the benefits of having an Etsy shop. I do know I am giving myself a span of free time to rethink, redo and allow some unstructured creative time to go down unknown roads. A "dead end" is not a dead end if I learn something.
