My mother always said that when I was a child, I never walked into a room - I danced into it. And that I never spoke to people - I sang to them. An early attraction to glitter, sparkle, and iridescence would later lead me toward the art of adornment.
In school, my schedule was always heavily laden with art classes - drawing, painting, folkdance, theater, poetry, and jewelry-making (to name just a few). Blessed to have grown up in a musically diverse time period, I gather inspiration from '60s Psychedelia, '70s Glam, Funk, and Disco, '80s Goth, and '90s Shoegazer.
In the '80s, I began to take jewelry design seriously and studied metalsmithing for four years. During this time, I started making huge sterling silver cuffs and collars that could double as weapons of conventional warfare.
