About

I was raised in Tennessee and when I graduated high school, tried to get as far away from that big small town mentality as possible, so I moved to Arizona to attend ASU in 1995. As with most things, with time and age, I gained perspective on what it meant to be a lady raised in the South and developed a renewed appreciation for the aspects of the culture that drove me nuts as a know it all teenager. I longed to stitch a bit of that Southern charm and loveliness back into the fabric of my life as a Phoenician. Lil Basket Case is a brand that represents the history, formality and beauty of the South with the whit and rebellion I embraced by being out West.

Southern ladies are known for their impeccable manners and sugar sweet demeanor, but they also possess a wicked sense of humor. I have been “turning forks” as gifts for friends and family for years, and decided in the summer of 2010, that I need to share the love with others who appreciate a little humor. I worked with an artist to create beautiful images of my favorite forks and hand screen-print them on eco-friendly, quality re-usable products. When I first introduced my line to the marketplace, I felt a bit like a mother showing off her baby for the first time, hoping that everyone would think she was cute as I did and they agreed! I have had an overwhelming response to Lil Basket Case and could not be more proud or grateful for my fellow smart asses that have embraced and continue to support the line.
Peace, Love and Forks,
Meghan
