About

I am wife to the most wonderful Preacher husband in the world and a SAH homeschooling mama of 7 - ages 12 (boy), 10 (girl), 8 (girl), a baby girl in Heaven, 5 (girl), 3 (girl), and a baby boy born July 31st, 2013! We thank God for our precious children!

Babywearing just makes sense . . . for you and your baby. They need security, you need your hands, and you both enjoy the time to cuddle. The security of a child held close is a reminder to me of the most precious facet of my life -- the eternal security that I have in my salvation through Jesus Christ. When I came as a sinner for salvation, trusting Jesus alone, I received the promise that "him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." John 6:37b

I began Li'l Peeper Keepers out of our home in December 2006. With my husband's encouragement and God's help since that time, we have seen our occasional sales grow into a busy business! We sell three different types of carriers - the ring sling, the pouch sling, and the baby wrap. A Li'l Peeper Keepers DVD has been designed that covers basic use instructions for each carrier type and comes free with purchase of a carrier.

RING SLINGS: A ring sling is an adjustable baby carriers designed to carry your baby from infant to 35 pounds. This type sling is interchangeable between adults (fits almost anyone.)
Li'l Peeper Keepers offers a variety of ring slings. We have begun to focus more and more on the natural fibers of linen, tencel, and silk. I love to use a contrasting thread in a decorative stitch to add interest to the sling while not diminishing the sling's versatility.

POUCHES: Our pouch slings are a long U-shaped circle with a curved French seam, designed in such a way as to create a pouch to securely snuggle the baby/infant into. Pouches have no "hardware," (such as rings) to learn how to use, so many consider pouches as one of the simplest of carriers. Pouches come in a particular size (XS, S, M, L, XL), so are not usually interchangeable.
The plain fabric on one side of our reversible styles makes it like having two pouches in one!

The BABY WRAP is one of the most versatile carriers around. It has a longer learning curve then the others, but I was truly amazed by how simple the wrapping is. These, like the others, can be used from infancy up to toddlerhood. We offer mostly woven wraps, partly because I am "sold" on the super support they offer.

Since the accompanying DVD covers all three carriers, any of these types of slings make excellent baby shower gifts, especially the ring slings and wraps, since they are one size fits all!

Much research has gone into learning about babywearing and the best materials and methods to use when making carriers.
I personally like each of these types of carriers. All are simple to learn and simple to use. If your main goal is simplicity, go with a pouch. If versatility and long-term comfort are your goal, the baby wrap or adjustable ring sling might be a better choice.

ABOUT LI'L PEEPER KEEPER CARRIERS: Great care has been taken to make sure that these carriers are sewn with quality and safety in mind. Pouches are sewn with a reinforced seam, known as a French seam, to shape the carrier. Ring sling fabrics are chosen with care as to style and strength, and each sling is carefully reinforced at the rings. The rings used are from SlingRings.com (nonwelded aluminum). Both companies have rigid test guidelines in place to ensure safety and quality.

Babywearing is both a joy and a responsibility. Although Babywearing is simple, it will take practice and precautions, just like anything else. Don’t expect you or your baby to “sling like a pro” the very first time. Keep at it – it’s worth the effort!
Some precautions to take while wearing your baby:
1. Always check the carrier first for signs of wear or any rips. Don’t use if damaged.
2. Practice holds with a stuffed animal before trying them on your baby.
3. Use common sense while wearing – i.e. do not bend from waist. Don’t use around the water, while cooking, showering, or other potentially hazardous activities.
4. Always make sure your baby has sufficient airflow.
5. Remove baby from sling before placing in bed.
6. While making adjustments, always make sure the baby’s weight is supported.
7. If a child is fighting against going into the sling, wait until he is calm and try again.
8. If a child is fussing after being placed in the sling, talk to him, pat back, move around, just as you would normally do to soothe a child.
9. Follow safety guidelines: you use at your own risk, accepting the responsibility for the safety of your child.

So . . . Thanks for stopping by. Grab a cup of coffee and shop around. And, if you have any questions, go ahead and email! I'll be glad to help!
