About

I am Lissa, welcome to my shop!

I am mother to a fabulous six year old girl, toy maker, glass artist, and yoga teacher. We live in the gorgeous mountains of western North Carolina, USA. I love yoga, vegetable gardening, glass, running, SEWING, hiking, and a gajillion more things :)

Things are a bit slow here in my Etsy shop as I am in a very intense graduate school program studying Chinese Medicine and have time for little else!

My husband and I are glass artists with a studio on our property. Go to the 'Glass Lampwork Beads' section of my Etsy shop to see my bead work and check out and www.glasskitchen.com to see my husband's AMAZING work specializing in murrine.

Please read listings carefully to be sure what materials were used in the items you are interested in. For fabrics I use quilt shop cottons, organic knits, upcycled and repurposed fabrics, as well as vintage cottons. To stuff my critters I use organic cotton, polyfil, or wool from an Amish farm. For batting I use organic cotton, cotton, or polyester.

**************************************************

We have a non-smoking home, I do not wear perfume, and we do not use incense or air fresheners of any kind. Fabrics that have been prewashed were done so in a fragrance-free detergent. We do have a dog, but she's a Beagle and could not care less about sewing or fabric; she much prefers chasing rabbits, barking at squirrels (and passing trucks), and searching out nap spots out of the kiddo's reach. I keep my fabric and finished items away from both Beagle and child.

I prewash/shrink all quilt shop cottons and vintage and upcycled fabrics. I also prewash completed quilts. I do not prewash fleece, minky, organic knits, or most flannels. All washing done with a mild, natural, eco-friendly detergent that does not have fragrances or harsh chemicals.
