I am a fabric/textile addict. Silk dupioni, velvet, charmeuse, midori ribbon, vintage lace, barkcloth, seersucker, linen, cashmere, wool, dotted swiss, matelasse, tulle....
There is no stopping me when I come upon any of these items (and more - the list could go on and on!). When my daughter moved out, I turned her bedroom into a craft room, in order to house all my treasures. And lately I’ve started collecting vintage trims, and rhinestone/pearl jewelry. That being said, is the reason I came up with my latest sewing endeavor.

I remember my first trip to a fabric store with my mother when I was in grade school, and how I fell in love with some sweet flowered cotton fabric that I took home with me, not knowing if I would ever do anything with it.

I did – and made two pillows. From there I went on to embroidery, cross stitch, sewing clothes in high school, to making my bridesmaids dresses (with the help of my 15 year old brother!). After I was married, I inherited my grandmothers ancient couch, which although sturdy was rather shabby....so I began my slipcover career. It was great because it allowed me to stay home with my kids when they were young. They probably regret that now, because I also made all these ridiculously frilly dresses with matching headwear. Now we laugh hysterically looking at pictures of them in their “beautiful outfits”.

When I’m not in the craft room, I’m either cooking, or out with the dogs. I’m also very passionate about anything and everything to do with nature, but there is never enough time to do it all!

I’m from the beautiful state of Vermont where my heart will always be, however, there is nothing like an early morning walk by the ocean where I live now on Cape Cod.

I love checking out the latest things on Etsy and am amazed at the incredible talent that is out there. It's a fantastic resource and I’m excited to take part.
