About

I grew up in North Dakota, to an artist weaver/designer mother. I got to run wild during the summer at art fairs all over the US. I had a great time and my first best friend was a potter, Susan Davy. She is awesome, and still working her magic in clay near Minot, ND. She's always been more like a Godmother.

I moved to Dallas, TX in late summer of 1995. Got a job as a general sales clerk, and demonstrated so much proficientcy with computers that it launched a great career in IT that lasted 13 years! But without the super creative creating, I really didn't feel great about what I was doing. I quit my job in July 2007 to figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.

But without the super creative creating, I really didn't feel great about what I was doing. I quit my job in July 2007 to figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.

Then I landed on making handbags. Which was kind of funny, because about 8 years ago, I said to a friend while she we were out shopping, that someday I was going to make handbags and brand them LizzieCaye. Little did I know that all of that would really come about.

There are always challenges as I figure out how to market and get my information out there. It's been a crazy ride, but I'm still having fun with it, and that is all that matters!!

All of my handbags are designed by me and produced by me or my mother. Sometimes when I get a bit behind I have a lovely seamstress do some work for me. She lives locally, so that also makes me feel good about keeping things local, and keeping a small greenie footprint. Most everything is make of recycled materials. The exception is interfacing. My mom and I pick up fabric & notions from rummage sales, flea markets, and several donations!
