Lindsay Jø Nustra Karnats' Profile

About

I am a mother, wife, art teacher, photographer, and artist.
I love animals. I love photography. and I love to draw.

I have been teaching art and photography to public high school kids right outside of Chicago since 2002.

I have two kids ages 4 and 6. They love to draw and paint. They love to ask me to draw and paint them things. One day, I drew their favorite animals for them in white charcoal. They were a big hit, so the logical next step for them was to request that I draw ALL the animals we see in our backyard. It became a fun collection that we hung in our living room. Animals Charcoal Drawing Black White...

I received a lot of positive feedback and decided to draw other animals and start selling the prints on Etsy.

I stuck with charcoal. Its bold. minimal. stark. its everything I love. but its messy. It's fragile. Am I describing myself? Where was I? Its no fun worrying about smudging your brand new art work, so I searched high and low for reputable giclée printers and purchased many different prints on different papers until I fell in love with one. I decided the Somerset Velvet Fine Art paper gave the best replication of the black charcoal paper I use, thus giving the customers the closest product to the real drawing.... without the mess of charcoal at a fraction of the cost. win-win.

I hope you enjoy my work. If so, please add me to your favorites!
