About

In 1988 I envisioned a public garden in San Francisco dedicated to everyone who has suffered from the ravages of AIDS. My waking dream was to create a team of volunteers dedicated to grow a grove of trees as an AIDS memorial for everyone worldwide. My dream became reality because of many years of work, by a whole lot of volunteers, and the cooperation of San Francisco city government http://www.aidsmemorial.org

The ancient art of origami is used to create permanent ornaments by glazing with a painted finish and jewel fixture. These ornaments are wonderful wedding table favors and are used as place card holders. You can attach them with a ribbon to any gift. Peace cranes are suitable for any celebration or presentation from a birth, graduation or memorial. Bulk/custom orders available in same papers or paper to be determined. International shipping costs need to be discussed prior to purchasing. Payment of any import tax duty is the customers responsibility not the sellers.

Please email me for information regarding custom orders and shipping costs for bulk orders. All of the cranes pictured are available in larger quantities. Size of cranes: 3" tall by 6" wide, made from origami paper sized 6" X 6".

Cranes may be used as interior design accents. A beautiful vase with a branch or two hung with cranes is a unique arrangement for tranquil beauty all year long.

Native San Franciscan, and mother of two grown children raised in SF, all of us practicing our art making interests. Some people are compelled to create art and crafts whether or not they have an audience. I am one of those people who keep on making art no matter what is going on. I do appreciate a community like this. Today it takes an electronic world wide village to help keep art alive.

I started painting when I was 9 years old because art was a life preserver in my stormy childhood. A beautiful woman from France, a mother of one of my classmates in 4th grade, taught our class watercolor and chalk pastels. A life long love of art and France began with those first lessons in painting, because she was the kindest person I ever met in my life.

When I was a teenager I began creating theater sets, costumes, landscape and interior design. Continuing to this day, I adorn myriad surfaces with color, form, and light. Learning new techniques is crucial for me. Joining Etsy is a an opportunity to learn about other practicing artists all over the world. I hope Etsy thrives.

Origami has my attention and love right now. I enjoy teaching children, teens and adults how to make peace cranes at public forums.
