About

My name is Damjana, a freelance textile and fashion designer from Slovenia, living in France with my husband and two children.

It all started in 2001, a few years after I graduated from fashion and textile design at University of Ljubljana. It suddenly occured to me that the most common item in my closet were not shoes like in so many women's wardrobes, but handbags! I prefer using single colour fabrics of different structure and feel so I can decorate them myself - with beads, lace, applique or embroidery. I love fabrics and will also use printed designs when I can complement them with my own hand work. All my seams are double stitched and reinforced on stress points for extra durability. There will be no fraying and unravelling if I can help it!

A lot of the trims, lace and buttons I use are vintage, given to me by my mother, who taught me how to sew, crochet and knit (though I have forgotten most of my knitting and am only now re-learning how to crochet in order to decorate my bags with tiny crochet flowers)
