About

I am a mother of seven children (10, 9, 7, 5, 3, 2, and 7 months). My husband is a firefighter and I am a registered nurse. In 2009, I put nursing on hold to be home with our children full-time, which has proven to be the most difficult and rewarding work of all. Since then, our family has grown alongside our home business, for which I design unique sweet essentials for mom and baby.

Early one morning when our second daughter was a baby, I woke to the sound of her muffled cries. As she slept, she had become tangled in her blanket, and it had wrapped around her face, thankfully without harm.

After that day, we began using sleep sacks in the crib as a safer alternative to traditional baby blankets.

When our next baby was born, he mostly slept in a standard cotton sleep sack, but he often woke up cold. The fleece varieties were warmer, but the synthetic fibers were not breathable, and he often woke up sweaty and uncomfortable. He also outgrew one every few months, and the Velcro® closures did not hold up well through multiple washes.

The rest of the family slept under down blankets, which were perfectly cozy, light and lofty for year-round use. I marveled at the thought of my baby snuggled in a down sleep sack made to stand the test of time.

After several experiments with sketching and producing an original pattern, I successfully created a sleep sack with down fill and adjustable sizing with snaps (patent pending), which was originally known as the “Snuggle Down”. I made several for family and friends, progressively improved the product in aesthetics and function.

At the end of 2009, I opened an Etsy shop, and my naptime hobby slowly grew into an exciting home business. When I started offering the same versatile design of the Snuggle Down in a variety of unfilled fabrics and weights, I re-named the product the Baby Snap Sack®.

At the end of 2011, I conceived an idea for another new product, as I realized that the options were slim to none for a nursing cover that was both beautiful and functional. The Milk & Honey Wrap® is made by a small manufacturer outside of Charleston, SC, and launched in the Fall of 2013.

I hope you enjoy our products as much as we do!
